Literally hot for Oregon in May. Dry and sunny Northwest shows on this tour... to our delight. Shakedown Street as a Set 2 opener may have been a first for me and was a pleasant surprise. Dire Wolf stands out as the rare treat as the GD wound down to the end of the road. I hit about every show from Fall 94 on to the end. Feds had everyone of our face on camera as we went through the cattle shoot in and out of the horsetrack. That bullshit just was unnecessary harassment.. One of the two Portland Shows bob made a statement, "...fuck the Christian Right." Nice Bobby.

39/41: Terrapin (14:47) -> Drumz (25:36) -> The Last Time (6:05) -> Days Between (13:15) -> Sugar Magnolia.
Forgettable first set, though really not all that bad. Sp95, for me, continues to surprise. (I guess technically it's early summer or the "Summer West Coast Tour...) Garcia seems consistently more present than I would have expected. Another surprise: First set highlight is the Tom Thumb's Blues. That "magic wand," he really leaned into this sound in Space and the Dylan numbers. Whenever it appears, on a Sugaree or some other song, like a Days Between, it's always a treat.
Unique MNS, I like the LLR, and as some have noted: The Terrapin through to the end of set is rather good. Drums/Space, per the era, does not disappoint. Very good Days Between. Last lyrical "lie between" is so powerful and emotive. It transitions into a spirited Sugar Magnolia to close out the set and show. Liberty encores. "I'm gonna find my own way home...."
